<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of stay of vessels on a conveyor, to improve operating rate of the conveyor, and to improve picking sorting workability. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of picking areas A1-4 are set along a main conveyor 10. Each picking area is provided with a working conveyor 20 and a plurality of shelves 30 for storing articles. The working conveyor is formed of a buffer area for keeping a plurality of vessels 40 in a waiting state, and an article sorting area that performs sorting and input of the articles and is used for placing at least one vessel 40. In one picking area, at least n workers perform picking in parallel, and one worker of them performs sorting of the picked article for at least one vessel lying in the article sorting area. After the completion of the sorting, at least one vessel lying in the article sorting area is fed to the main conveyor, at least one vessel of the plurality of vessels lying in the buffer area is fed to the article sorting area, and a next worker performs sorting of the picked articles for at least one vessel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
