PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable acquisition of the most suitable range information for each control. SOLUTION: A position judgment device comprises a position sensor 14 to generate a continuous output value accompanied by the operation of a shift operation member for selecting a range of a power train, and a position judgment processing means to judge the position to perform each control by comparing the output value with a position judgment pattern optionally set for each control. The output value output with the position sensor 14 is compared with the position judgment patten optionally set for each control, and the position for each control is judged so as to enable the acceptance of the most suitable range information.
