PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker capable of surely disconnecting a circuit when an overcurrent of a commercial power frequency or a direct current flows into the circuit breaker, further, not disconnecting the circuit when a surge current of lightning flows into the circuit breaker. SOLUTION: The circuit breaker is equipped with a terminal connected to an element to be protected, a coil detecting the overcurrent, and a bypass circuit composed of a resistor or a combination of an inductor and a resistor, bypassing the high frequency component of the surge current of lightening flowing through the coil.
