PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-signal matrix switcher which improves the operability and realizes efficient presentation by automatically switching the type of the input signal of an RGB signal and a YPbPr signal. SOLUTION: Signal type discriminating means 9A, 9B and 9C discriminate that the type of an image signal inputted into an input channel constituting a video output line is the RGB signal or the YPbPr signal, and signal conversion instructing means 9A, 9B and 9C instruct signal conversion means 10A, 10B and 10C to convert the image signal on the basis of the discriminated type of the image signal. Since the image signal is automatically converted by the means 10A, 10B and 10C so as to be suited to a video output apparatus connected to the output channel constitution the video line, the necessity of manually changing the type of image signal every time is eliminated and the operability is improved.
