PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion type power tool which prevents a sidestream from passing to the gap between a ignition point and a earth point and realizes good ignition property without deteriorating maintainability. SOLUTION: An earth portion 56 is arranged facing the ignition point 16A of an ignition plug 16, held by a head cap 4 at a location nearer a rotary shaft axis 13a of a fan than the ignition point, and arranged projecting outwardly and radially relative to the rotating shaft of the fan from this supporting position. A surface defining the combustion chamber of the head cap has a first section 4A around the rotating shaft of the fan, a second section 4B supporting the ignition plug, and a third section 4C located outwardly in a radius direction of the rotating shaft of the fan relative to the second section. The second section is located on the opposite side of a piston relative to the first and third section, and a convex shape ignition space is provided. The surface of the earth portion facing the piston is located in the same plane as the third section in the fan radius direction or the opposite side of a piston relative to the third section.
