PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive micronizing apparatus having a simple structure for dispersing a dispersion phase of oil, calcium and the like in a dispersion medium such as water and milk. SOLUTION: In the apparatus, a dispersion medium and a dispersion phase or a dispersion system under pressure is passed through a flow passage having the cross section of the passage drastically varied along the flow direction of the passage to micronize the dispersion phase. The micronizing flow passage is composed of: a first small hole 3 formed in the center of one end face of the passage structural members 2, 4, 6; a long hole 5 which has the width almost equal to the diameter of the first small hole 3, the depth larger than the diameter of the small hole 3, and the length significantly larger than the small hole 3, and which is connected at the center of the hole 5 in the longitudinal direction to the small hole 3; and a pair of second small holes 7 having the diameter larger than the diameter of the small hole 3, connecting to either ends of the long hole 5 and opening on the other end face of the structural members 2, 4, 6.
