PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the cooling quantity of heat for a motor without making a motor cooling fan large-sized or increasing the cooling surface area of the motor by lowering the temperature of air sent to the motor and to keep the cooling ability of the motor even when the cooling fan of the motor is made small sized and the cooling surface area of the motor is decreased. SOLUTION: In a centrifuge provided with a rotor for housing a sample, the motor for rotary driving the rotor through a driving shaft, a bowl surrounding the surface of the rotor, a refrigerating machine forming a circulation system of a cooling medium by connecting a condenser, a capillary and a compressor by using pipe lines, the motor cooling fan for sending air in the outside of the centrifuge to the motor, a motor cooling air suction passage for transfer the air sent from the motor cooling fan to the surface of the motor and a controller for controlling the motor, the refrigerating machine and the motor cooling fan, a part of the pipe line of the refrigerating machine is brought into contact with the outer circumference of the motor cooling air suction passage or is arranged in the motor cooling air suction passage.
