The steplessly adaptable clamping device consists of two components (2) each with a foot (3), pedestal (4) and threaded shaft (5). The pedestal has several hooks of solid construction rigidly fitted beneath the pedestal. A support (7) such as a C-section rail is hung on the hooks at right angles to the anchored pillar (1). The support has on its upper lying side holes which with regard to their spacing and dimension coincide with the spacing and dimension of the hooks. The hooks of the pedestal are located in the holes. The threaded shaft is screwed into a thread cut in each pedestal.
