<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make reproducing error rates of a groove having an in-groove pit and a groove having no in-groove pit compatible with each other, in an optical information recording medium having a substrate wherein the in-groove pits are formed. <P>SOLUTION: In the substrate of the optical information recording medium, a plurality of lands and grooves are formed, first pits and second pits having the length in the groove direction longer than that of the first pits are formed at the bottom part of a part of the grooves and the in-groove pits are so formed that inequality 1<W<SB>2</SB>/W<SB>1</SB><1.2 is satisfied, when the maximum width of the first pits in the radial direction of the substrate and the maximum width of the second pits in the radial direction of the substrate are defined as W<SB>1</SB>and W<SB>2</SB>, respectively. In the in-groove pits, expansion of the width in the radial direction of the substrate is suppressed regardless of the length in the groove direction, the side wall of the land shape adjacent to the in-groove pit is not greatly scraped and fixed land and groove shapes are maintained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
