<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for easily adapting an automatic transaction device to an environment for parallel use of old and new bills. <P>SOLUTION: A main control part in an automatic transaction device having a bill receiving/dispensing part is made to perform a received new bill monitoring step for monitoring the proportion of new bills received in the bill receiving/dispensing part, a stored new bill monitoring step for monitoring the proportion of the new bills stored in a receiving/dispensing box classified by denomination in the bill receiving/dispensing part, a same-denomination old/new bill storing step for storing the old and new bills of one and the same denomination in one and the same receiving/dispensing box classified by denomination, and a bill usage mode switching step for switching a bill usage mode by changing the denomination of the bills to store in the receiving/dispensing box classified by denomination, depending on the proportion of the received new bills and of the stored new bills. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
