<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically propagate and record metadata items 5 to and on recording media 1 and 2 and/or devices 3 and 4 adapted to read from and/or write to recording media. <P>SOLUTION: The process has: a step of providing the metadata items 5 with a propagation property, the propagation property defining to which of the recording media 1 and 2 and/or to which of the devices 3 and 4 the metadata items 5 should be propagated, and on which of the recording media 1 and 2 and/or in which of the devices 3 and 4 the metadata items 5 should be recorded; and a step of automatically propagating and recording the metadata items 5 in accordance with the propagation property at least when the recording medium 1, 2 is inserted into or removed from the device 3, 4 or when the device is powered on or off. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
