<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a controller for an air conditioner which properly maintains the performance of a compressor, even when the voltage of a power source is low. <P>SOLUTION: This controller is equipped with an inverter circuit which controls the number of revolutions of the motor of a compressor, a switching converter circuit which supplies this inverter circuit with power, an input current detecting circuit which detects the input current of this converter circuit, a DC voltage detecting circuit which detects the DC voltage of the above converter circuit, and a controller which controls the short circuit current application time of the above converter circuit, based on the detection results of this DC voltage detecting circuit and the above input current detecting circuit. The controller predetermines the value of the short circuit current application time in the power voltage upper limit value of the maximum number of revolutions of the motor, and elongates this determined value, according to the power voltage value being obtained from the detection results of the DC voltage detecting circuit and the input current detecting circuit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
