PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a windscreen for an optical fiber weld splicing machine which facilitates the use of a magnifying glass during the optical fiber splicing and permits space-saving without projecting the magnifying glass from the top of the optical fiber splicing machine. SOLUTION: An optical fiber weld splicing machine body 3 is provided with the openable and closable windscreen 7 and the magnifying glass 13 for observing the circumferences of V-groove tables 21 and 23 atop the optical fiber splicing machine body is housed when the windscreen 7 is closed. When the windscreen 7 is opened, the magnifying glass 13 is positioned in the observation position in the upper position of the circumferences of the V-groove tables 21 and 23.
