PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera housing by which chromatic aberration is excellently corrected to obtain excellent image quality without making an entire camera larger nor causing drastic cost rise in a medium having a larger refractive index than air such as underwater. SOLUTION: In the camera housing 50 constituted so that a housing 51 inside which the camera 60 is hermetically enclosed and housed is put in the medium having the larger refractive index than the air so as to photograph an external subject, the housing 51 has an optical window WL disposed to be positioned on the optical axis of the photographic lens PL of the camera 60. When it is assumed that a difference between the refractive index of the medium on a d-line being a reference line and the refractive index of optical material forming the optical window WL coming into contact with the medium on the d-line being the reference line isΔnw, the specification of each member is set to satisfy an expression:Δnw<0.50, and the optical window WL has a diffraction optical surface Gf.
