PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of variations in precision of a circular arc because of remaining stress strain, since conventionally a fiber sensor is wound around a heating cylinder or is left as a loop to which a stress is being applied, due to a necessity for a U-shaped or loop fiber sensor for measuring gyroscope orientation, vibration, and temperature, using an optical fiber. SOLUTION: A fiber core that has been softened by preheating is set on a die having a prescribed precision and shape and which is similarly preheated to be formed by a hot press method, and then cooled. The die is provided with a hole for detecting leaked light, to detect and correct precision of the sensor during the hot pressing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
