PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base rock stress measuring system capable of obtaining stable stress data for a long period even at a place with much underground water. SOLUTION: The base rock stress measuring system is constituted of a pressure measuring part 14 consisting of a cylinder block 10, a pair of cylinders 12 inserted from both ends in a cylinder bore 11 formed in the cylinder block 10 and a piston block 13 fixed to the outside end of the cylinder 12, hydraulic pipe 15 connected with the cylinder bore 11 of the pressure measuring part 14, a hydraulic mechanism 16 supplying hydraulic pressure by way of the hydraulic pipe 15, and a pressure sensor placed at a location other than the pressure measuring part for detecting the pressure in the hydraulic pipe 15. When the pressure measuring part at an arbitrary position in the bore hole to be measured is fixed, stable stress data can be obtained for a long period even at a place with much underground water, by supplying hydraulic pressure in the cylinder bore by way of the hydraulic pipe with a pair of extended cylinders and a cylinder block.
