PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow plug, having an effect of restraining increase in contact resistance of a joint part between a metal ring and a ceramic heater. SOLUTION: The glow plug 50 has a ceramic heater 1 having a resistance heating element 11 buried in the tip part thereof. A first and second heater terminals 12a, 12b for applying electric current to the resistance heating element 11 are formed to be exposed to the outer peripheral surface of the ceramic heater 1. A first and second terminal rings 14, 3 covering the first and second heater terminals 12a, 12b exposed to the outer peripheral surface of the ceramic heater 1 and serving as a metal fitting member conducting therewith are fitted in interference fit to the outer peripheral surface of the ceramic heater 1.
