PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ladder of simple structure allowing ladder length to be shortened in storage and to be easily lengthened in use, and moreover installed in a safe erected state. SOLUTION: In this folding type ladder, a ladder connector is formed as a hollow body. Either one of the end parts of vertical frame members of upper and lower stage ladders is stuck into the hollow body, and the other is removably inserted in the hollow body. Further an elastic body is mounted across the right and left vertical frame members of the upper and lower stage ladders through the hollow parts of the ladder connectors, and the upper stage ladder is provided with a floor presser member at a prescribed angle to the vertical frame member of the upper stage ladder.
