PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new flame retardant which causes no bleedout, no transpiration, etc., keeps mechanical properties of plastic and improved heat resistance. SOLUTION: The crosslinking type plastic flame retardant is represented by general formula (1) (R<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>3</SB>are each one selected from phenoxy,α-naphthoxy,β-naphthoxy, phenylphenoxy, benzylphenoxy, benzoylphenoxy, phenoxyphenoxy, benzyloxy, NHCH<SB>2</SB>CH=CH<SB>2</SB>, NH(α-naphthyl), NH(β-naphthyl), NH(phenylphenyl), NH(benzylphenyl), NH(benzoylphenyl), NH(phenoxyphenyl), NH(benzyl), N(C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>5</SB>)CH<SB>2</SB>CH=CH<SB>2</SB>and N(CH<SB>2</SB>CH=CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB>and the number of an allyl groups (-CH<SB>2</SB>CH=CH<SB>2</SB>groups) contained in general formula (1) is≥2). The plastic flameproofing method comprises mixing a plastic with 1-20 wt.% of the flame retardant and carrying out crosslinking/curing by irradiation with energy ray or heat or by both to supply the plastic with flame retardance.
