ALKALI-RESISTANT CHEMICALLY MODIFIED SILICA GEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemically modified silica gel which is excellent in alkali resistance and is usable without lowering separation performance for a long period of time by solving the problem of the poor alkali resistance of the conventional chemically modified silica gel. SOLUTION: As the chemically modified silica gel obtained by chemically modifying the silica gel, the chemically modified silica gel in which the ratio of the isolated silanol group/total silanol group of a silica gel original body is≥50% or in which≥25% of the total silanol group of the chemically modified silica gel is chemically modified is used. More particularly, the silica gel original body to be chemically modified is preferably formed by subjecting silica gel raw materials to calcination treatment at 400 to 1,200°C. The chemically modified silica gel has the extremely high alkali resistance and is adequately usable for liquid chromatography. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
