<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the concentration of combustible gas below a combustible dilution limit when combusting hydrogen or anode off-gas even if a catalytic combustor is not activated. <P>SOLUTION: The catalytic combustor 7 combusts mixed gas of fuel gas and the anode off-gas, or oxidant gas and cathode off-gas. A system controller 35, controlling the concentration of the fuel gas in the mixed gas so as to become within a prescribed range (not lower than a lower limit of catalytic activation and not higher than a combustible dilution limit) during an ignition period from the start of the supply of the mixed gas up to the supposedly sufficient activation of the catalysis, and controlling so as to supply the mixed gas even if the concentration of the fuel gas is beyond the prescribed range after the ignition period is passed, is installed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
