<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply cooling water of low conductivity to a fuel cell stack for initiating a start operation in a short time. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell system comprises a main cooling water flow passage 15 wherein the cooling water passing the fuel cell stack 11 and branched from a main piping 13 flows, a subpassage 16 for cooling water flow wherein the cooling water passing the fuel cell stack 11 and branched from the main piping 13 flows and an ion removing filter 19 for removing conductive ions eluted into the cooling water. The fuel cell system is provided with a control unit 22 controlling to replace the cooling water of high conductivity in the fuel cell stack 11 with the cooling water of comparatively low conductivity in the subpassage 16 and to pass the replaced cooling water of high conductivity through the ion removing filter 19 to circulate in the main cooling water flow passage 15 when starting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
