METHOD FOR AMPLIFYING NATURAL KILLER T CELL SHIFTED TO Th2 TYPE OR Th1 TYPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient method for producing an NK T (natural killer T) cell shifted to the Th2 type and a therapeutic agent for autoimmune diseases.

SOLUTION: A human NK T cell shifted to the Th2 type is amplified as follows. A monocytic fraction comprising the human NK T cell is cultured in the presence of (a) a matured type dendritic cell 2 presenting an α-glycosyl ceramide, (b) a cytokine having proliferating and/or activating actions on the NK T cell and (c) a dexamethasone. The human NK T cell amplified by the method or a cell fraction containing the cell is useful as the therapeutic agent for the autoimmune diseases.
