SEMICONDUCTOR MEMORY CARD AND CONTROL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor memory card that precludes capacity shortage when an EC application writes data thereinto.

SOLUTION: The semiconductor memory card can expand an area in an EEPROM 3 in a TRM 1 available by EC client applications. The expansion generates partitions in a flash memory 2 for the TRM 1 to assign them to the EC applications, while locating partition tables in the internal EEPROM 3. The partition tables are located in the TRM 1, and the generated partition tables are accessible only from a CPU 7 in the TRM 1. The limited access to the expansion area only by the CPU 7 in the TRM 1 improves the secrecy of stored contents.
