<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chip resistor 1 comprising a resistor film 4 formed on an insulating substrate 2, upper surface electrodes 5 at the opposite ends thereof, a cover coat 6 of the resistor film, auxiliary upper surface electrodes 7 formed on the upper surface of the opposite upper surface electrodes, and side electrodes 8 formed on the left and right side faces of the insulating substrate wherein corrosion of the upper surface electrodes 5 due to sulfur component, or the like, in the atmosphere is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: An overcoat 9 for covering the cover coat 6 is formed to partially overlap the auxiliary upper surface electrodes 7 and the end 6a at a part of the cover coat 6 overlapping the upper surface electrode is extended such that it is located closer by an appropriate dimension S to the left/right side face 2a side of the insulating substrate 2 than the end 9a at a part of the overcoat 9 overlapping the auxiliary upper surface electrode 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
