<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate chatting in a network game by inputting a character string using a terminal other than a game apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In a game system 150, a user first operates a user terminal 24 for inputting the character string, or the like, and transmits input information about inputting and user identification information to a server 26. The server 26 specifies the user on the basis of the received user identification information. The server 26 transmits the received input information to another user terminal 25 and the game apparatus 22 both of which access the server device with the specified user as a transmission source. Another user terminal 25, or the like receiving the input information displays the input information on a display device as information from the user specified by the server 26.
