PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing the coil of a rotary electric machine, capable of surely preventing the occurrence of poor jointing, by only adding a process of simple contents. SOLUTION: A plurality of electric conductors are inserted in slots formed at a stator core, in an inserting process. A deformation part at the tip of one electric conductor is so deformed as to radially approach, in the direction, where the tip of the other electric conductor to be jointed is arranged, in a deformation process. The electric conductor inserted in the slot is bent, in a bending process. The tips of the bent electric conductors, adjoining each other, are jointed together, in a jointing process. The deformation process includes a thin-plate inserting process, where thin plates 350 and 352 are inserted between the electric conductors to be jointed, adjoining radially, except for the deformed parts, and a pressuring process for pressuring the deformed part in radial direction toward the side where the thin plates 350 and 352 are disposed, using a deforming tool 360.
