PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner capable of generating good shading correction data. SOLUTION: The image scanner obtains the digital shading correction data based on data with multiple lines from a reference white board read by a one-dimensional line sensor 210, and is provided with a shading correction circuit 200 for correcting the read data with the shading correction data when the one-dimensional line sensor reads an original image. In this image scanner, the shading correction circuit 200 comprises a pixel predetermined value calculation means 205 for calculating a predetermined value 1_N of each pixel (N) based on the a predetermined value 1 and the shading correction data of the each pixel, a shading correction data storage means 204, a difference value calculation means 201 for calculating a difference value between the reference white board read data and the shading correction data, a difference value comparison means 202 for comparing the difference value and the predetermined value 1_N, a correction data operation means 203 for operating the shading correction data, which operates the shading correction data in accordance with a comparison result by the difference value comparison means 202, and generates the shading correction data.
