PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily find an active region of a supercritical fluid in a short time by utilizing its wobble. SOLUTION: An incident light having a wavelength shorter than a blue color is irradiated through a window 5 for the incident light to a supercritical fluid sample 2. Scattered light is generated in the supercritical fluid sample 2 by Rayleigh scattering. When at least one of a temperature and a pressure of the supercritical fluid sample 2 changes, a scattering intensity of the scattered light passing through a window 7 for the scattered light or a transmission intensity of transmission light decreased by the Rayleigh scattering of the incident light and passing through a window 6 for the transmission light, is measured while the temperature and the pressure respectively change, and the active region is searched based on their intensity changes.
