PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cavity resonator for an electron spin resonance device having a spherical cavity part and a stable microwave resonance axis. SOLUTION: The cavity resonator for an electron spin resonance device comprises: a spherical cavity section made of a nonmagnetic substance; an input/output hole that communicates with the cavity section for introducing microwaves to the cavity section or deriving the microwaves from the cavity section; and an insertion hole in samples for directing a sample tube to the center of the cavity section for insertion. Then, the direction, where the insertion hole of the sample tube is provided, is configured so that a static magnetic field is applied from an orthogonal direction. In the cavity resonator, the arrays of slits, grooves, or holes are arranged in parallel with a plane orthogonally crossing the insertion hole direction of the sample tube and a plane including a static magnetic field axis on the inner wall of the cavity section.
