PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator which can be used even if an object is in a close range from the static eliminator. SOLUTION: In the static eliminator, an electric field shielding section 24 having conductivity is arranged so as to overlay with the top of each discharge electrode 1. The electric field shielding section 24 is in a nearly concentric circle with the case opening 5 and is coupled to a guard 25 for guarding the case opening 5. Mounting positions of the discharge electrodes 1 are positions which do not overlay with the position of a motor power line 30. For instance, when the top of the circle of the case opening 5 is at 0°, the discharge electrodes 1 are arranged at positions other than positions at 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, 180°, 225°, 270°, and 315°. This makes the discharge electrodes 1 avoid overlaying with the motor power line 30, and can reduce the amount of ions captured from the motor power line 30 of a fun section 26. Furthermore, preservation of the electrical discharge performance and miniaturization of the eliminator are compatible with each other without enlarging the size of a unit holding the discharge electrodes 1.
