PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording tape cartridge excellent in a dust-proof property. SOLUTION: A recording tape cartridge 10 comprises a reel 28 which is stored in a case 12 and of which the engaging part 44 is disposed at a bottom part 36 of a reel hub 32 wound with a recording tape T; a braking member 60 which is disposed in an rotatable condition in the case 12, comes into contact with and is separated from the bottom part 36 in the reel hub 32, and can take a rotation lock position to engage with the engaging part 44 and a rotation allowing position to release the engaging state with the engaging part 44; and a releasing member 84 which is disposed so as to rotate integrally with the reel 28 in a guide wall part 52 erected from the bottom part 36 of the reel hub 32 and holds the braking member 60 at the rotation allowing position while abutting on the braking member 60 when rotating the reel 28.
