PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device at a low cost by constituting a column housing having high shape accuracy by simple molding. SOLUTION: The column housing 2 for supporting a column shaft is formed by folding a plate by folding lines parallel to each other. The column housing 2 is constituted by joining butted end edges each other by a joining means such as welding to have polygonal (rectangular) cross section having each of the folding lines as a corner. A connecting flange 21 to connect other parts is peripherally provided at one side end part of the column housing 2.
