PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an axle-housing body having sufficient strength at a low cost and an axle housing manufactured using the method. SOLUTION: When a spherical graphite cast iron 9 is molded in a mold 5 to form an axle-housing body, a steel component 7 having an oxidation-resistant coating 8 formed thereon is set in the mold 5 and the component 7 is inserted by the graphite cast iron 9.
