In a papermaking assembly a moving fibrous web is exposed to a transverse array of steam blowers (12, 13) that are, opposite a sieve (3, 4, 5) and suction unit (7) located on the obverse side of the web. The sieve section (5) forms part of a gap- or hybrid former. The steam blower is directed either at the upper or lower sieve in the twin-sieve section. The suction unit is a suction drum (6) or part of a suction drum.
