<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which performs safety securing in case of an abnormal supply of electric power more reliably in the image forming apparatus provided with an engine controller, a printer controller and power source means which can turn on/off a plurality of output systems. <P>SOLUTION: An engine controller 20 is provided with: an abnormality monitoring means (a temperature sensor 21a or the like) to monitor the abnormality of the control object (a fixing heater 21 or the like) of the engine controller 20; and a communication means (a temperature detecting line 21b) to communicate the monitoring result of the abnormality monitoring means. The printer controller turns off electric power supply from a power source means (a power source unit 30) to at least the control object on the basis of abnormality information from the abnormality monitoring means and the communication means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
