PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy transfer phosphor pigment in which the orientation of its donor phosphor and its acceptor phosphor is such that energy can effectively transferred between the donor phosphor and the acceptor phosphor. SOLUTION: This pigment is a compound having a functional group which is selected from the group consisting of an alkene, a diene, an alkyne, a five- or six-membered ring or a condensed ring structure having at least one unsaturated bond and which has a first substituent containing a donor pigment which has a xanthene ring structure, can absorb light of a first wave length and can release an excitation energy in response, and a second substituent containing an acceptor pigment which can absorb the excitation energy released by the donor pigment and can emit a phosphor with a second wave length in response.
