<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily attach/detach a processing unit without damaging the processing unit in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A developing unit 14 is pressed toward a drum unit 15 so that a gap between a developing roller and a photoreceptor drum may be previously specified space. When such pressing is released, the drum unit is allowed to be detached from an apparatus body 11.
