<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide safety measures for an image forming apparatus having an automatic pullout unit setting mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: When an operation lever 504 is operated to be rotated, a bracket 105 is rotated together with a lock bracket 101, and a right slide rail 501 is moved and a fitting projection 502 gets over a pawl 101a at the edge of the bracket 101 so that the pullout unit 500 is prevented from moving back by the pawl 101a. By moving the bracket 101 by a driving means 102 in a state where the unit 500 is detected to be set to the vicinity of a regular set position, the unit 500 is slid to a regular position. The unit 500 is held and pressured in a pull-in direction via the projection 502 by the pawl 101a of the bracket 101, and accurately positioned at the regular position even when the machine is operated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
