<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily execute setting for automatic printing by a Web print function without troubling a user. <P>SOLUTION: When the user desires subscription (the automatic printing) of a certain Web page, the user accesses a Web page for a subscription application from a printer. When the user clicks an 'application' button in the page for the subscription application, a setting request is transmitted to a Web server. The Web server receiving it adds a comment tag including subscription setting data to an HTML document that is a response to the user side, and sends a reply. When the printer receives it, the printer decides whether a transmission destination IP address/port number inside its data packet is registered in the printer or not.
