<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock wave type sterilizing apparatus which can continuously and stably generate a shock wave. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus is constituted in such a manner that the shock wave 41 to be discharged in a liquid is generated when an electrode 20 for discharging is inserted in the liquid in a liquid storage tub 11, and a sterilizing process is performed by applying the shock wave 41 to a sterilization objective such as a food or a chemical in a sealed packaging utensil which is immersed in the liquid storage tub 11. The electrode 20 for discharging is a coaxial type electrode having a central electrode 21 which is extended along the axis, and outer peripheral electrodes 23 which are arranged on the outer periphery of the central electrode by inserting an insulating material 22. Also, the outer peripheral electrodes 23 are arranged by placing at least one gap 24 in the axial direction, and the shock wave 41 for sterilization is generated by discharging between the distal end of the central electrode 21 and the outer peripheral electrode 23A on the distal end side, and between the outer peripheral electrodes 23A and 23B, and between the outer peripheral electrodes 23B and 23C with the gap. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
