<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a load from being directly applied to an internally housed article as much as possible even when the load is applied from the upper stage side to the package on the lower stage, and to greatly reduce the generation probability and deformation or cracks of a glass sheet. <P>SOLUTION: The upper surface part and the bottom surface part of the internally housed article 3 comprising one or a plurality of packaging unit bodies 2 for which a plurality of glass sheets G are approximately vertically house-held under a parallel arrangement are covered with an upper lid 9 and a bottom lid 10. At the same time, the package is equipped with a restraining member 15 which restrain-supports the internally housed article 3 by pressing at least two side surface plates 11 and 12 to confronted two side surface parts of the internally housed article 3. Then, a space 16 is provided between the total area of the upper surface part of the internally housed article 3 and the internal bottom surface of the upper lid 9.
