<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply magnification processing to image data while keeping the deterioration of the image quality minimal. <P>SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus is provided with: a magnification information analysis means for analyzing digital zoom magnification information attached to photographed image data; a magnification processing decision means for deciding the amount of magnification of an image and a magnification processing method on the basis of an analysis result obtained by the magnification information analysis means; and a magnification processing means for applying the magnification processing to the photographing image data according to the amount of magnification of the image and the magnification processing method decided by the magnification processing decision means. The image processing apparatus carries out the magnification processing on the basis of the photographing information attached to the image obtained by setting digital zooming and photographing an object with a digital still camera or the like so as to carry out proper magnification processing in response to the photographing image and a zoom rate (magnification factor). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
