PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a plate member from being position-shifted along a plate face direction, and to make size reduction for a liquid level detector compatible therewith. SOLUTION: In this liquid level detector provided with a float arm having a float, an arm holder 4 made of a resin for holding the float arm and turned by buoyancy of the float, and the metal plate member 7 assembled to the arm holder 4 to be turned together, having a sliding contact 7a sliding on a circuit board and exhibiting elastic force for pressing the sliding contact 7a onto the circuit board, a cut and erected part 73 is formed by cutting and erecting one part of the plate member 7, a slit 3a is provided in the substantially central portion along a width direction C of the cut and erected part 73, and the part 73 is arranged insertedly into an insertion hole 4f provided in the arm holder 4, under the condition where the whole of the cut and erected part 73 is deformed elastically along a cut-and-erected direction D, while both side portions 73b of the slit 73a in the part 73 are elastically deformed to be approached each other.
