PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately position an intermediate transfer body unit and the main body of an image forming apparatus without making the apparatus structure complex. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus primarily transfers a toner image formed on an image carrier to an intermediate transfer belt and secondarily transfers the toner image on the belt to a recording medium in a secondary transfer section, thereby forming an image. In the image forming apparatus, the intermediate transfer belt is constructed as the intermediate transfer body unit B in which a drive roller 2, a tension roller 4, and a secondary transfer inside roller 3 are rotatably supported by an intermediate transfer body frame 1. Also, the intermediate transfer body unit B is constructed such that the unit B can be attached/detached to/from the main body of the apparatus.
