PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intermediate shaft for marine propulsion capable of controlling stresses caused by torsional vibrations generated in the intermediate shaft attributable to the excitation of an engine. SOLUTION: The intermediate shaft (5) is constituted to connect a large two-cycle internal combustion engine (4) to a load (7), in particular, a propeller shaft (6). At least a part of the intermediate shaft (5) is arranged in a rotation-symmetric to the longitudinal axis of the intermediate shaft, and comprises a plurality of members (16) extending parallel to the longitudinal axis.
