PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic stop/starting control device for an internal combustion engine capable of reducing automatic starting caused by brake operation during an automatic stop by appropriately securing the boost pressure before stopping the engine. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine to be mounted on a vehicle provided with a brake booster using the intake air pressure inside an intake air passage as the boost pressure PB is provided with this automatic stop/starting control device for automatically stopping/starting the internal combustion engine. This automatic stop/starting control device automatically stops the internal combustion engine when an engine stopping condition containing, at least, the condition that the boost pressure BP inside the brake booster is the preset stop allowable pressure PS or less is satisfied, and automatically starts the internal combustion engine when the engine starting condition containing, at least, a condition that the boost pressure BP inside the brake booster is the preset starting request pressure PO or more is satisfied. The stop allowable pressure PS to be set as one of the engine stopping condition is set at a value lower than the starting request pressure PO by the predetermined value KP1.
