PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throw-away type cutting tool which has both satisfactory chip discharging performance and satisfactory tool operability. SOLUTION: A tip pocket 5 of a throw-away tip 8 having a mounting surface 3 and two wall surfaces 2, 4, is formed in a front end of a holder 1, and a clamp member 6 is inserted into a hole penetrating from the mounting surface 3 to a rear surface 15 of the holder with its front end protruding from the mounting surface 3. The clamp member 6 is formed like a rotatable columnar body, and has a projection 7 formed on the periphery of its front end. Then a clamp hole 13 is formed at the center of an upper surface 11 of the throw-away tip 8, and a linear groove 12 is formed in an inner wall of the clamp hole 13 from the upper surface 11 to a seating surface 10, followed by forming a spiral dip 14 in the vicinity of an upper-surface 11 side opening of the clamp hole 13, beginning from the groove 12 along the inner wall of the clamp hole 13 so as to be shallower at a location farther away from the groove 12.
