The bathtub (1) is of a modified oval shape with straight sides and semicircular ends. The flat floor plate (9) has straight sides and semicircular ends and is held above the bottom of the bathtub on spacer blocks (10). There is a central drain (2) with a remotely operated plug (3) and circular inlet grids (4) for air bubbles under floor plate. The floor plate may be made of metal covered with plastics. Natural stone and glass may also be used. Heating lamps may be fitted under the floor plate.
