<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain cost reduction, miniaturization and low loss by using only one array waveguide type wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer in a wavelength multiplex processor used in a wavelength division multiplexing system. <P>SOLUTION: The wavelength multiplex processor is provided with a waveguide device 3 with a plurality of incident and outgoing waveguides 31 and 32, a first slab wave guide 33 and a plurality of channel waveguides 34 formed on a substrate 30, mirror array devices 5 and 6 and a lens device 4. Surface direction angles of reflective mirrors 51 to 56 and 61 to 66 at which incident optical signal components are reflected are set in such a manner that reflected light to the optical signal components made incident from one between the plurality of incident and outgoing waveguides 31 and 32 is caused to emit from one between the plurality of incident and outgoing waveguides 31 and 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
